I was very interested in one of the names of the sons of James S. Dooley listed above - that being the name Paris. Would anyone know where that name came from?
Is the Dooley family of TN and the Grorgia Dooleys somehow connected?
Perhaps I'm grasping at straws but.......

Here are some odds and ends that connect the Dooley name to the surname Paris or Parris. Just wondering if they somehow connected to the James S. Dooley family in TN.

Tid-bits:
In the minutes of the Inferior Courts we find that Jesse Dooly of Habersham County, GA was the administrator for Jane Parish; (Paris, Jane,
dec'd, Jesse Dooly, admr, to sell real estate 11/7/1836, Habersham MIC.)
According to the time frame, this was evidently the Jesse who was the son of Thomas DULA /DOOLY. Jesse later married Mary Chitwood in 1846. Why would he have been the administrator for Jane Paris?

In the book "Unhallowed Intrusions" by Don Shadburn, he mentions that the Parris and Langley family were Indian. They were married into the Gravitt family and were in Lumpkin, Dawson, Forsyth and Hall Counties. At the end of this article on the Gravitts Shadburn had the following:
"Note: Many of the Langley, Gravitt, DOOLEY and related family members are found on the Swetland Roll, 1868, and Hester Roll, 1882-84, in Gilmer and Pickens County."

A fellow researcher found that Alfred Gravitt married JANE (JANIE PARRIS-INDIAN NAME) LANGLEY 1838 Forsyth Co., GA: Jane was full blood Cherokee. Their daughter, Melissa Caroline Gravitt married Lewis DOOLEY 1865 Forsyth Co., GA.
Children of Lewis Dooley and Melissa Gravitt were listed as George Webster Dooley and Julia Dooley.

Lewis's birth date was given as 1846. Who were Lewis Dooley's parents?
