Martin Dooling's parish was from Balnabanogue in the old parish of Ballyanne
now Cushinstown. Cushinstown consists of Carnagh, Kilscanaln and Old Ross in
addition to Ballyanne. The parish records are not available for 1785 to 1790.
Martin and Michael Dowling are listed in 1825 tithe allotment book as
occupiers of 5acres, 1rod 5perch each in the townland of
Boolachier/Ballycohire/Bolacheer which ajoins Ballynabanogue.
Martin's father was James Doolan, died February 1812 aged 60 years and his
mother was Anty (Anastasia) Doolan, alias Bolger, died november 1823. The
above was taked from their grave stone in Ballyanne cemetery which also
includes the body of Joney Doolan who deceased Feb the 1st 1784 aged 29 years.
The listing in "Cgapel is a typo in the Valuation and should read Chapel
according to Hilary Murphy whom is doing our research in Wexford. He has not
confirmed the location of Johanna Furlong, married Martin Dooling, in
Clonliegh/Cloughbawn parish in 1825 as there are no birth records for
Johanna. Hilary believes Chapel could be the Furlong location.

At the time I only had John Dowling, b. ca 1840, son of Martin Dowling and Johanna Freiling from somewhere in Ireland which you suggested was not nearly adequate to begin a search, something about "haystacks" of paper and data.
We finally got to the RC church in Hamilton Ontario to look for us and just before Christmas they sent a copy of John's marriage registration. The document lists his parents as Martin Dolan and Johanna Furlong of County Wexford. If you will recall we had a Johanna "Freiling" as our interpretation of handwriting on a Canadian Census form. I understand the Furlongs are many in County Wexford with Furlong being one of the early Norman immigrants to this part of Ireland.
I have had no luck with finding an Irish researcher with whom I have any amount of confidence. If I could get it down to some possible Wexford locations I would have a place to start. Do you have anything on the Dolans (Dowlings) of Wexford? Would it be possible for you list the Martin Dolans in Griffith's Evaluation for Wexford and other adjacent counties?
