DOWLING--In Denver, Saturday, February 29, 1908, James C. Dowling, aged 53 years.
We understand that heart trouble was one of the main causes of Mr. Dowling's death. As a rule he was the picture of health, and the last one we would suppose would pass so soon to the other side.
Mr. Dowling has been living in Denver the past few years, though he was well known in Longmont in earlier times. A tinner by trade.
He was the owner of about ten acres of land just west of the northern part of our city, which he called Rosedale, but had not sold any lots from the patch. He also had some other real estate in Longmont.
Mr. Dowling was a man of considerable force of character, and stoo firm for what he believed to be right.
He leaves a wife, two daughters and three sons.
Eugene is living in Portland, Oregon.
The remains were received in Longmont by F.R. Shaw and services were held by Rev. A. L. Chase in the Methodist church.
Mr. Dowling was a member of the W. O. W. and the order was represented at the funeral.
