Believed to have been registered twice. The first as Doolan and the second as Dowling. I can not find two families of John Doolin & Mary Good and John Dowling & Mary Good both with daughter Maria so my current working hypothesis is that the families are identical.

Sue Jordan said, in 2021, "Walter was in the First World War as a driver, they wanted farm lads to look after and deal with the horses. During his service Walter had been gassed and when he got back from the war he was weakened by the whole experience... probably traumatised as well!

Walter married and had a daughter, Mary and died shortly after in 1921 of appendicitis. A minor ailment in so many ways but they couldn't get him to Kidderminster Hospital in time to be saved. He is buried in Farlow Church Yard. A few years ago I managed to get in touch with the War Graves Commission and they replaced his gravestone, which was in poor repair, with a military gravestone. Every Remembrance Day the local primary school children visit the grave to learn about what happened in the war."
