Obituary:-
Mrs. Estelle Dowling Dinkins, 82, of Waycross died Sunday morning at Satilla Regional Medical Center after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her husband, Weamon Dinkins was also critically injured in the accident.
She was born in Pierce County to the late Arthur Dowling and Mittie Banks Dowling. Her mother died at when Estelle was 12, she was then raised by her father and step-mother, Aurelia Dowling. She has resided in Waycross for most of her life. She worked for Rubin Brothers and also Concerted Services. She was a charter member of Jamestown Baptist Church where she taught GA's. She was also a member of the Wakefield Temple Pythian Sisters where she was Grand Chief. She enjoyed gardening, baking cakes and doing anything she could for her community.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her mother since age 12, Aurelia Dowling, a grandchild, Benji Strickland, great grandchildren, Jamie Dinkins, Dillon Dinkins, Anthony Dinkins, a great great grandchild, Leslie Humpries, and a sister, Jeanice Lynn.
Mrs. Dinkins is survived by her children, Patsy Watson and her husband Harry of Harriett's Bluff, Georgia, Jimmy Dinkins and his wife Edwena of Kingsland, Georgia, Audrey Chapman and her husband Wayne of Waycross, Ruby Pierce of Waycross, Carolyn Brockington of Harriett's Bluff, Georgia, Elizabeth Hanzi and her husband Keith of White Oak, Georgia, Clifton Dinkins and his wife Carolyn of Virginia formerly of Waynesville, 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, her sisters, Louise Mitchell of Jekyll Island, Georgia, Katie Crews of Hoboken, Kathryn Altman and her husband Kennon of Hoboken, Maggie Ruth Bohannon of Hoboken, Sybil Muise and her husband Richard of Boston, Massachusetts, Latrelle Kozar of Little Rock, Arkansas, her brothers, Randall Dowling and his wife Carolyn of Harriett's Bluff, Georgia, Robert Dowling of Waycross, Tom Dowling and his wife Winkie of Harriett's Bluff, Georgia, Leroy Thrift and his wife Mary of Waycross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday at Jamestown Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.

Obituary:-
James Robert Dowling, 89, of Waycross died Saturday (April 27, 2019) at the Hospice House of Hospice Satilla after an extended illness.
He was born in Morven, GA to the late William Arthur and Mittie Banks Dowling. His mother died when he was 7, he was then raised by his father and step-mother, Aurelia Tatum Dowling. Mr. Dowling was a Veteran of U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He lived most of his life in Waycross where he owned and operated Dowling Plumbing and Electric. Mr. Dowling was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Blackshear Masonic Lodge #270. He loved gardening, fishing, tinkering and could fix anything.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Juanita McCarthy Dowling; three sisters, Estelle Dinkins, Maggie Bohannon, and Janicee Lynn; two brothers, Tommy Dowling and Leroy Thrift.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Arney, Sissy DeWitt (husband Mark), Gina Ogle (husband Trevor) all of Waycross; seven grandchildren, Bill Arney (wife Risa) of Alma, Chris Arney of Waycross, William DeWitt of Charleston, SC, Megan Tapley (husband Trey) of Waycross, Jordan DeWitt of Athens, GA, Brett Henderson (wife Danielle) of Millwood, Sarah Ogle of Waycross; four great-grandchildren, Bennett Arney and Jarrett Arney both of Alma, Brooklyn Henderson of Millwood, Tucker Tapley of Waycross; one brother, Randall Dowling of Harriet’s Bluff; five sisters, Louise Mitchell, Jekyll Island, Katherine Altman of Hoboken, Kaite Crews of Hoboken, Latrelle Kozar of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sybil Muise (husband Richard) of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 6 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth Chapel Building Fund, c/o Beth Taylor Strickland, 6110 I.W. Strickland Rd., Waycross, GA 31503 or to a charity of your choice.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Obituary:- Thomas J. Dowling, 72, of Woodbine passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born Dec. 15, 1941, in Waycross, he was the son of the late William A. and Aurelia Tatum Dowling. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanice Lynn and Estelle Dinkins.
Mr. Dowling had resided in Camden County for the past 21 years, and was retired from the United States Navy with 20 years of service. He served his country honorably, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his career in the Navy, he started his own business repairing medical equipment in small hospitals in southeast Georgia.
Mr. Dowling’s passion was his family, faith, fishing and singing. He and his wife Winkie, known as the Sonshine Singers, sang and entertained at area nursing homes. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Winkie Dowling; children, Dietra McKinney (Marvin), Michelle Ramos (Raymond) and LaVaughn Dowling (Keely); three brothers, Randall Dowling, Leroy Thrift and Robert Dowling; six sisters, Louise Mitchell, Maggie Bohannon, Katie Crews, Kathryn Altman, Sybil Muise and Latrelle Kozarr; 10 grandchildren, Alycia, Rachael, Kelly, Sean, Christian, Tyler, Olivia, Leanna, Matthew and Natalie; four great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Lindsey, Levi and Harper; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Dowling’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Pastor Greg Gardell and Scotty Langford officiating, and with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at 10 a.m.

Obituary:- Hoboken-Mrs. Maggie Ruth Dowling Bohannon, 86 of Hoboken, passed away Tuesday night (October 3, 2017) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in McClenny, FL her parents were William Arthur Dowling and Mittie Ruth Banks Dowling. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Tillman Bohannon, Sr.; a son, Ronald Tillman, Jr.; a daughter, Gloria “Annette” Bohannon; her brothers and sisters, Estelle Dinkins, Leroy Thrift, Jeanice Lynn, and Thomas J. Dowling.
Mrs. Bohannon was a housewife and a devoted mother who enjoyed working with flowers, crocheting, traveling, and doing word searches.
Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Willie Bohannon (Debbie) of Wetumpka, AL, Marcus Bohannon of Hoboken; a daughter and a son-in-law, Lucy Sanders (Brannen) of Eatonton, Ga; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, Shaun, Alisha and Veronica Bohannon; 3 great grandchildren, Erik Fritsch, Jacob Owings, and Jennifer Fritsch; 2 brothers, Randall Dowling, of Harriett’s Bluff, and J. Robert Dowling of Waycross; 5 sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise Mitchell of Jekyll Island, Katie Crews of Hoboken, Mary Katherine Altman of Hoboken, Sybil Muise (Richard), of Boston, MA, & Latrelle Kozar, of Ft. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon (October 6, 2017) from 12PM-1PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon (October 6, 2017) at 2PM at High Bluff Cemetery in Hoboken with her nephew, Mr. Marshall Edgy speaking.
Pallbearer are Marcus Bohannon, Shaun Bohannon, Thomas Harris, Dewayne Boatright, Alan Dasher, and David Nichols.
Family will be receiving friends at her residence, 9064 Hwy 121 Hoboken, GA 31542.

Obituary:- Sara Juanita Dowling - (May 27, 1936 - March 3, 2006)
Sara Juanita McCarthy Dowling, 69, of Waycross died Friday morning (March 3, 2006) at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Bacon County and had lived in Waycross since 1954. Mrs. Dowling was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Grace Sunday School Class, the Eastern Star, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waycross Shrine Club. Her parents were the late William Riley McCarthy and Alif Bazemore McCarthy. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Burnice McCarthy, Willis McCarthy and Gene McCarthy.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James Robert Dowling, three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Ross Arney, Waycross, Sissy and Mark Dewitt, Waycross, Gina and Trevor Ogle, Waycross, one brother, Felton and Lavodas McCarthy, Waycross, one sister, Lucille Carter, Tifton, six grandchildren, William Dewitt, Megan Dewitt, Jordan Dewitt, Brett Henderson, Bill Arney and Chris Arney, two great-grandchildren, Bennett Arney and Jarrett Arney, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Chapel. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Bacon County. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests the Grace Sunday School Class to serve as honorary pallbearers and are asked to meet at Central Baptist Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Sunday for the service.
