My mother was an only-child but her Father had a MUCH younger brother called Graham Dowling, who is unfortunately, now dead. His wife REDACTED is still alive. They have 3 children, REDACTED who are more or less my age. Her father was Cecil Horace Dowling, of Southampton, England. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. I have a photograph of my Great Grandfather which I will find (in a box at home in France, where I live now). I was born on the REDACTED. I found your one-name study on the internet whilst on a trip to Ireland to visit Doolin in County Clare (I am here today). In the village I found Dowling/Doolin drinks coasters on sale...so I guess we are common knowledge thereabouts! I also have a paper, which was sent to my Grandfather by his brother, which is from a geneology tracing company...it gives information about the Seven Septs of Leix. I can send you this. It says they worked with archives stored in Dublin Castle if I remember well. My older brother, REDACTED, changed his name to Dowling, from Willis, adopting his maternal Grand-father's name (Willis is my maiden name). So, I am staying near Doolin this weekend and I don't have all my paperwork with me but the geneology company said we decend from one of the sons of King Milesius of Spain, Heremon. So, I will stop bombarding you with information and send you some papers when I am back in REDACTED 🙂 Thank you for the information you posted. My older brother has more from the 1800's onwards, showing several family members whose job titles are just listed as "scholars"...I can get copies. One of my children, who goes by the name REDACTED, may be of interest for your notable names list of decendants. He is an actor/singer/social media "star" with 1.7 million daily subscribers and nearly 62 million "likes" on his Tiktok account (which has the i.d. "p4perback", if you are interested). He has recently worked for Marvel and is about to be a special guest at the Dutch Comicon event in a few weeks time. I noted there were a few actors on the list, so just in case !
