Patricia Ann Dowling, 85 of Montoursville, formerly of English Center, PA, received her wings Monday, May 19, 2014 at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. Her husband Carl Ellsworth Dowling preceded her in death July 6, 1994.

Born May 20, 1928 in Elmira, NY she was a daughter of the late Carl and Violet (Markley) Edwards. Patricia was employed at GTE Sylvania until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed Canning, Baking, and spending time with family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the Senior Center with her friends. Patricia was a member of the White Pine United Methodist Church, Trout Run, PA, and attended the Liberty Church, Liberty, PA.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol A. Becker of Williamsport, Sherry A. (Terry) Neenan of Williamsport, Norma Jean (Maurice) Giese of Harwood, Texas, a son, Carl E. "Bud" (Gloria) Dowling of Wellsboro, PA, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren, and one additional great-grandchild due August 2014.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, James E. Dowling, a brother Jack Metzger, a sister Jean Marie Edwards, and five infant grandsons.

A funeral service will be at 7 PM Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Sanders Mortuary, Ltd., 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Interment will be announced at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday at Sanders Mortuary, prior to the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's name to the White Pine United Methodist Church, 6964 State Route 184, Trout Run, PA 17771 or to the Liberty Church, 8692 Route 414, Liberty, Pennsylvania 16930.

CARL E. DOWLING

Carl E. Dowling, 54, of Wellsboro, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014.

He was born on July 31, 1960, in Williamsport, a son of the late Carl E. and Patricia A. (Edwards) Dowling.

Carl was married for 30 years to Gloria M. (Bartholomew) Dowling and attended the Liberty Church, Liberty.

He was employed by Denney Electric, Wellsboro, for many years.

Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and shopping.
He loved spending time with his family especially his grandson and was greatly anticipating the arrival of his granddaughter in February.

Carl is survived by his wife, Gloria;
two daughters and sons-in-law,
Ashley and Jay Smith of Liberty,
Tricia Dowling and Bryan Williams of Covington;

three sisters and brothers-in-law,
Carol Beckner of Williamsport,
Sherry and Terry Neenan of Williamsport,
Norma Jean
and Maurice Giese of Harwood, Texas;
grandson, Blake Williams; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, James Dowling in 2000.

Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Liberty Church, Liberty. A memorial service will follow at the church at 7 p.m., with Pastor Lon Williams officiating.
Interment will be in the English Center Cemetery.

GLORIA M. DOWLING - AGE 59 YEARS

Gloria M. (Bartholomew) Dowling, of Wellsboro, PA stepped into eternity with Jesus on Friday, December 27, 2019 surrounded by family. She was a daughter of the late Kirk Bartholomew and Alice M. (Wilson) Bartholomew. She was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Carl E. Dowling who passed away in 2014.

Gloria was a member of the Mt. Zion Full Gospel Church of Wellsboro, PA. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Gloria is survived by her mother: Alice (Wilson) Bartholomew of Wellsboro, PA, two daughters: Ashley (Jay) Smith of Wellsboro, PA, Tricia (Bryan) Williams of Covington, PA, brother: Wally (Valerie) Bartholomew of Galeton, PA, four grandchildren and her best friend: Phyllis of Covington, PA.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: January 3, 2020, Mt. Zion Full Gospel Church, Wellsboro, PA. Wear purple, Gloria’s favorite color, at 6:00 pm.
